The Production

Following seven West End seasons and a record breaking UK tour in 2024, the critically acclaimed supernatural thriller 2:22 A Ghost Story is embarking once again on a UK Tour in 2025/2026. 

Written by award-winning writer Danny Robins, creator of the hit BBC podcast The Battersea Poltergeist, the production is directed by Matthew Dunster and Gabriel Vega Weissman. 

Job Description

As the Sound No.1, you will be fully responsible for operating, maintaining and delivering all sound elements as the department’s sole technician including fit ups and load outs. 

Key Responsibilities

  • To work collaboratively with other departments to ensure the smooth running of the show. 
  • To ensure all sound equipment is ready for each performance including a daily sound check.
  • To maintain up to date cue sheets and sound documentation.
  • To attend rehearsal, technical, dress and understudy rehearsals as required.
  • To handle emergency repairs and resolve any audio issues quickly and effectively.
  • To support and contribute to risk assessments, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Ensure that work materials are kept in a tidy and secured manner.

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience working as a Sound No. 1 or in a similar capacity on a large scale production
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively under pressure. 
  • Confident in line mixing with multiple characters.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Adaptability to meet the needs of a live performance schedule.
  • Touring experience including fit ups and load outs.

Production Dates:

  • Rehearsals will commence in London, SE1.
  • First performance on 7th August at Manchester Opera House
  • Final performance on 27th June at Cambridge Corn Exchange 

Salary: UK Theatre/Bectu agreement 

Yearly salary: £45 – 50k
