Lin Manuel Miranda’s Tony Award-winning musical ‘In the Heights’ began its run in London in 2014.
Following a sold-out premiere in 2014 in Southwark Theatre, the show made its way to King’s Cross Theatre on Tuesday October 13th 2014 only to be extended multiple times for 2 years through to 2016.
The production, directed by Luke Sheppard, won three Olivier Awards including Outstanding Achievement in Music, Best Supporting Actor for David Bedella and Best Choreography by Drew McOnie.
The story follows a community in Washington Heights as their lives intertwine with one another. The musical transports the audience to the neighbourhood in Manhattan, New York, where a story rich in hope, passion and sacrifice unfolds and encircles the audience in a hip-hop latin score and fast paced dance-numbers.
